Blake and London Deven were adopted out of the North Carolina foster care system by Avantae Deven, along with three other children. The children were homeschooled, starved and kept isolated. In 2024, Avantae Deven reported Blake missing--but it turned out he'd been gone for over a year. London was gone too, but was never reported missing. Blake and London Deven were failed by their adoptive mother and by the North Carolina foster care system.
