Gemma Sugrue is one of those natural entrepreneurs. She started her own wedding singer business at college and on finishing her degree joined forces with a friend to set up a singing teaching studio in Cork where they now have 300+ students, and are earning enough to employ a manager whilst she spends time on her own creativity as singer/songwriter. Gemma talks to Line Hilton about her journey from a naive 17 year old touring Australia with an Irish dance show, how she went about learning to sing in a contemporary vocal style, setting up her first business as a wedding singer, and the trials and tribulations of becoming a studio boss with 15 teachers. She also talks about how she has gone about finding a balance between her business and artist mindset.
