In today’s chronological Bible reading, we walk through Acts 15–16 and the pivotal Jerusalem Council that declared Gentile believers free from the burden of the Mosaic Law, while giving simple Spirit-led guidelines for holy living. Tim highlights the humility of James, the family nature of church leadership, and the “one another” life of the body of Christ. We then follow Paul and Barnabas through sharp disagreement and Spirit-directed ministry, watching God use even their separation for greater mission impact. Finally, we see Paul and Silas beaten, imprisoned, worshiping in chains, and witnessing so powerfully that a jailer and his whole household come to faith. Be encouraged to listen to the Holy Spirit, live free from religious burdens, and be fully devoted to advancing the kingdom.
