Her journey began with watching her mother struggle with depression, which ultimately led to her mother ending her own life. Life then took Erynne down another messy path when a lip abnormality, deemed to be precancerous due to sun exposure, came into the picture. She discovered that there is no lip gloss on the market that contains SPF. These two separate but messy events inspired Erynne to create her company, appropriately named “Mental”. Erynne saw light where there was darkness, and she is on a mission to bring awareness and resources to those dealing with mental illness, along with introducing lip care with SPF in lip gloss.
Her company donates the proceeds from the lip gloss to various mental health resources, aiming to be a source of hope and light in the midst of darkness and sadness.
