Description

A late-night walk story kicks things off, then we jump straight into a spring break mission trip recap that’s equal parts exhausting, hilarious, and spiritually clarifying. We drove from Mississippi to Orlando to serve with 1002 Church, a church plant meeting at an elementary school, and the assignment was simple: canvass the neighborhood, invite families to Easter, and be ready for real gospel conversations at the door. What happened next surprised us. In just a few days, our team helped distribute thousands of invitations, and we saw how something as “ordinary” as showing up and speaking kindly can feel rare in a city where many people aren’t used to church outreach at all.

Jackson and Fallon share what it was like to step into evangelism when you’re not sure what to say or you’re worried it will feel forced. We talk about coming home more aware of friends, classmates, and neighbors who need Jesus, and how mission trips can turn the Great Commission from a slogan into a lived, everyday mindset. Dave also explains how ministry plans shifted when a venue change fell through, and why that disappointment may have opened bigger doors for outreach through the school, including free VBS and community sports camps.

We lighten the mood with Table Topics (extra burritos, job references, school morals, and parenting “spying”), then close with a Midweek Moment from David Platt’s Gospel Threads on God’s holiness, justice, and grace, anchored in Revelation 21:3. If you care about Christian missions, church planting, youth ministry, and practical evangelism, this conversation is for you. Subscribe, share with a friend, and leave a review, then tell us: what’s the hardest part of starting a gospel conversation?
