In this weeks episode we jackhammer into a brief history of Industrial music. What is Industrial? Just what it sounds like. A loud, harsh, abrasive music genre that blends elements of electronic noise with some unconventional sound sources.
In todays lesson we begin from its creation, sample the first pioneers of the genre, play some joints from the bands that made it mainstream, right up until some sounds from today. We cover as much as humanly possible in 60 minutes going in a chronological order so take notes as we attempt to make your earholes bleed.
We begin with bands like Kraftwerk, Throbbing Gristle, Cabaret Voltaire, Einsturzende Neubauten, MINISTRY, Forkboy, Pailhead as well as play the Industrial classics by Lords of Acid, My Life with a Thrill Kill Cult, KMFDM, Nitzer Ebb, Front 242, Alien Sex Fiend, NIN,Cell Dweller, Prodigy, White Zombie, She Wants Revenge and more!
So put on your black eye make up and grab your circular saw because its time to embark on the Industrial Evolution. Yalla!
So if you prefer the sounds on a construction site over the sounds of bubble gum pop music then you may find this interesting.
Live from the heart of the Galil Mountains on 105.3FM, this is more than just a radio show—it’s a sonic journey through time, culture, and sound. Hosted by a native New Yorker who cut his teeth spinning records in the city’s underground scenes of hip hop, reggae, dub, punk, and dancehall. He now has relocated to the mountains of Northern Israel to bring this knowledge of music to everyone in earshot.
We dig deep into the record crates telling the stories behind the music that shaped generations and putting some stank on it in the process. Each episode weaves a tapestry of genres, connecting the past and present like an old school cassette mixtape with special guest appearances from kindred spirits like Uncle Siris’ daughter, Soso, and the Silent Bob of of the DJ world, Mixmaster DJ Milkweed.
