There’s some deep wisdom coming from Christi Cooper.

I ask her what her 3 tips for new service-based business owners are, and she gives me these three gems:

• Don’t give up. We all have low months, downtimes, bad days. Business gurus promise fast growth, but that’s not usually how things work. In the real world, things take time and it’s a more sustainable way of growing.
• Don’t be afraid to try and fail. That’s how you grow and learn.
• Take care of yourself. Don’t give up your whole life for your business. Family and friends are important.

If you ask me, Christi is spot on. Business gurus spoon-feed us this overly simplified idea that growing a business is as fast and easy as a Tesla in Ludicrous Mode.

But not only does that experience take you on a crazy ride that makes you scream in terror (ask me how I know), the likelihood of crashing at some stage is very real.

SO, what does it REALLY look like when you grow your business from scratch?

What started out as a side-hustle developed into a solid and successful business based on quality work, a top-notch client experience, and streamlined systems and processes. Did it happen overnight?
