In the Parable of the Talents, Jesus isn’t giving a lesson in business performance. He isn’t calling us to hustle harder or maximize productivity. He’s calling us to reflect Him while we wait for His return.
The first two servants take what the master gives them and do business the way he would do business — because that’s what servants do. They reflect the character and priorities of their master.
Jesus tells this story immediately after warning His disciples to stay awake — to be spiritually watchful and ready for His return. And now, He shows us what readiness actually looks like:
➡️ Readiness means actively trying to be like Jesus.
The Christian life is not passive waiting — it’s purposeful becoming.
Jesus is love incarnate — and His love is always moving people toward God’s best for their lives. He invites us to follow Him in that kind of active, intentional love.
So this episode asks a core discipleship question:
Am I shaping my life around the way Jesus lived His?
How I love?
How I lead?
How I use what God has entrusted to me?
We don’t know when Jesus is coming back — but we know what He wants to find when He returns:
A church awake.
A people becoming like Him.
