If you’ve sincerely surrendered your life to God, why do you still have so much to learn? Does facing temptation or discovering an attitude that needs to change mean your surrender wasn’t real?

In “Still Growing, Still Held,” Pastor Evan Ryder explores how God’s sustaining grace helps us continue growing after moments of surrender. A heart fully surrendered to God is still a heart with much to learn—and God faithfully meets us in that process.

In this episode of Rediscovering Faith, part of The Journey series, we reflect on Jude 1:24–25 and Colossians 2:6–7. Receiving Jesus opens into a continuing life with him, where we become rooted, strengthened, and increasingly shaped by his love.

Together, we explore:
• How sanctifying grace and continued spiritual growth belong together.
• Why temptation and human limitations don’t automatically mean our surrender was insincere.
• How Scripture, prayer, fasting, serving others, and Christian friendships help us receive and respond to God’s grace.
• What it looks like to remain teachable when the Holy Spirit reveals something that needs to change.

Whether you’re learning patience, reconsidering old assumptions, or seeking strength to resist temptation, God provides grace for your next faithful step.

Scripture: Jude 1:24–25; Colossians 2:6–7

Your Travel Log reflection:
Where is God helping me recognize a need to grow? What practice—or what trusted person—could help me respond to his grace in that area?

The Journey explores God’s grace and everyday Christian discipleship, drawing on the themes of Way, Truth, Life by Dr. David Busic.
