Send us your questions and reflections!

What happens if you have ignored God’s invitation, rejected it, walked away from your faith, or still have honest doubts about following Jesus? The good news of grace is that God continues to call you: “Come.”

In this episode of The Journey, we reflect on Isaiah 55:1–3 and 6–7, where God extends an invitation to everyone who is spiritually hungry and thirsty. He invites people who have nothing to offer and cannot purchase what they need to come, receive, listen, and live. This is a beautiful picture of God’s grace. We do not earn His love or make ourselves worthy of His invitation. God comes near because He is generous, merciful, and ready to forgive.

Isaiah also asks a searching question: Why do we continue spending our lives on things that cannot truly satisfy us? We often look for meaning, security, identity, and peace through achievement, approval, relationships, possessions, pleasure, or control. Some of these may be good things, but none of them can become the source of life we need. Eventually, we discover that we are still thirsty.

God’s grace invites us to stop exhausting ourselves in pursuit of what cannot satisfy and receive the life only He can give.

Perhaps you have encountered this invitation before but chose another direction. Maybe you began following Jesus sincerely but eventually wandered away. Your priorities shifted, your relationship with God became distant, or you returned to something from which grace had once helped you escape. God’s invitation is still open.

Maybe you want to believe but continue carrying unanswered questions. You may wonder whether doubt disqualifies you from following Jesus. It does not. Faith does not require the absence of every question. Faith means choosing to trust the One who calls us while continuing to bring our doubts honestly into His presence.

Although God is patient, His grace is not an excuse to postpone our response indefinitely. Isaiah says, “Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near.” Grace invites us to respond today—not after we eliminate every doubt, correct every failure, or finally feel worthy.

As you listen, take out your travel log or journal and reflect honestly:

How have I responded so far to God’s invitation of grace?

Have you accepted it, rejected it, ignored it, or continually postponed your answer? Did you once respond but later wander away? Try to describe where you are with God today—not merely where you used to be or where you think you should be.

Then consider a second question:

Will I accept God’s invitation to the journey of a lifetime?

For you, accepting that invitation may mean trusting Jesus for the first time. It may mean returning to God after a season of distance, bringing your unanswered questions along as you follow, or saying yes to the next faithful step Jesus has placed before you.

You do not need to hide your uncertainty. Bring your real response into prayer. The God who invites you is merciful, compassionate, and ready to receive those who turn toward Him.

The invitation is still open. God is calling you to come, listen, receive, and live. How will you respond?
