Send us your questions and reflections!

On Day 14 of our Advent journey, we step up to the walls of Jericho. The Israelites are poised to enter the Promised Land, but victory doesn’t look like anything they—or we—would expect. God’s instructions are unusual: march around the city, carry the Ark, blow trumpets, and wait. No strategy, no weapons—just faithful obedience.

This episode explores what it means to wait well by obeying God even when His plan doesn’t make sense. Waiting well isn’t passive. It’s participating in God’s work, trusting His timing, and taking steps of obedience, even when the path seems strange or the outcome is unclear.

Jesus models this perfectly. John 6:38 reminds us that He came not to do His own will, but the will of the Father. His obedience—culminating in the cross—was the ultimate example of following God’s plan faithfully, even when it didn’t make sense from a human perspective.

Listeners are invited to reflect and act: consider one small step of obedience God is asking of you today. Take it with faith, trusting that God’s ways are always effective, even when they don’t match our logic.

Waiting well is about trusting, obeying, and letting God accomplish what we cannot—just like the walls of Jericho came down exactly when God said they would, and Jesus’ mission accomplished salvation in God’s perfect timing.
