Send us your questions and reflections!
On Day 12 of our Advent journey, we explore the giving of the Ten Commandments at Mount Sinai. The Israelites have been delivered from Egypt, yet they are not ready to enter the Promised Land. God gives them the commandments not simply as rules to obey, but as formation for a people who can receive His promises.
Waiting well is not passive. It is a season in which God shapes our hearts, refines our desires, and teaches us to live in ways that reflect His character. The commandments show Israel—and us—what a life of trust, holiness, and love looks like while waiting for God’s promises to come to fruition.
Jesus steps into this story as the ultimate fulfillment of the Law. In Matthew 5, He shows us the life God intends for us and models perfect obedience, trust, and love. Through Him, the Law becomes not a burden but a guide for growth, teaching us how to wait faithfully and become the kind of people God desires.
This episode invites reflection and practice: choose one commandment and allow God to use it to shape your heart today. Waiting well is about becoming the people who are ready to receive God’s promises—and learning to trust the One who perfectly fulfills them in Jesus.
