Send us your questions and reflections!

Two months after crossing the Red Sea, the Israelites find themselves hungry, weary, and disappointed in the wilderness. The miracle of their deliverance feels distant, and their fear begins to speak louder than their faith. Exodus tells us that the entire community started to grumble—not because their need was insignificant, but because they couldn’t imagine how God might meet it.

And when God did provide, they didn’t recognize it.
The mysterious bread scattered across the ground made them ask, “What is it?”—the phrase that would become its very name: manna.

On Day 11, we explore what this moment teaches us about the spiritual discipline of waiting well. Sometimes we misunderstand God’s provision because it doesn’t look the way we expected. Sometimes the “daily bread” God gives us doesn’t match the solution we prayed for. And sometimes, in our impatience, we miss the grace that is already falling at our feet.

Then we turn to Jesus’ stunning declaration in John 6:
“I am the bread of life.”
Just as God fed Israel in the wilderness, He now feeds our souls through Christ. Manna temporarily filled their stomachs, but Jesus eternally satisfies our deepest hunger. He is the provision we can trust—even when we don’t yet understand the form it takes.

This episode invites us to slow down, examine our expectations, and learn to wait with open hands. God knows our needs. God hears our cries. And God’s provision—whether in the desert or in our daily lives—always comes right on time.

Join us as we remember that waiting well means trusting the God who gives us what we need… even when it arrives looking different than we imagined.
