Sidney Thomsen, a lifelong resident of Rhinebeck, died on Dec. 2, 2025, at the Renaissance Rehabilitation Center in Hyde Park. Born in Rhinebeck on May 10, 1938, he attended Rhinebeck Central Schools. Sidney worked for many years at Hubert Garage in Rhinebeck, where he sold tractors and handled repair work. He later spent over 30 years as a mechanic with Jon-Mar in Red Hook, beginning in 1961. Known for his skill, reliability, and quiet dedication, Sidney took great pride in his work and his many friendships.
