So what really happens when you throw yourself into a dream opportunity—even when that little voice in your head keeps whispering “You’re not good enough”? I found out firsthand at Coco Rocha Model Camp, and wow… it changed everything.
Before I even packed my bags, the imposter syndrome was LOUD. I fully convinced myself I’d be the worst model there, that my roommate would hate me, and that I’d somehow embarrass myself out of a career. (Spoiler: my roommate was an angel and I did not get kicked out.)
From the moment I arrived, everything shifted. During my portfolio review, Coco said something that stopped me in my tracks:
“If you want editorial work… how would anyone know from this portfolio?”
Oof. That hit. And it sparked a total reframe: your book should reflect where you’re going—not just where you’ve been.
What followed? Four days of intense posing, runway training, business coaching, and some of the most creative shoots I’ve ever done. I walked away with seven completely different looks (yes, including a mohawk moment) and a whole new direction for my career.
If you’ve ever questioned whether investing in yourself is worth it—this episode is for you.
