Metabolism, or the cellular reactions that occur to turn food into usable energy for our cells, is the foundation for healthy functioning of our bodies.  So, as you might imagine, a problem with metabolic function, can result in health problems, and is the root cause of many health issues that many Americans are currently experiencing.  While there are many factors (such as processed foods, inadequate nutrition, chronic stress, inactivity, toxins, etc.) that contribute to ineffective metabolism, a sedentary lifestyle is one of the major factors that contributes to disrupted metabolism inside our cells.  In this episode, Krista shares recent research around the role of movement in metabolism, and discusses the different ways that we can use muscle movement as at tool to improve our metabolic function as well as our overall health.
