In this episode of Lead to Win, Pastor Jeff Little sits down with Hobby Lobby founder David Green and Bill High for a conversation about success, stewardship, generosity, purpose, and building a legacy that lasts.
David shares how Hobby Lobby grew from a $600 loan into a business with more than 1,100 stores and roughly $10 billion in annual sales—and why his family made the decision to view everything they have as something entrusted to them by God. He explains the journey toward giving away 60% of the company’s profits, why his family chose not to treat Hobby Lobby as an inheritance, and how they’ve worked to pass down purpose rather than simply wealth.
They also discuss finding purpose in business, developing a generational family vision, taking care of employees, staying engaged in meaningful work, and why every leader—not just pastors—should see their work as a calling.
Whether you lead a business, church, team, or family, this conversation will challenge you to ask a bigger question about success: What is everything you’re building actually for?
