This week is a rather short and powerful episode. In Mark 2:18–22, Jesus responds to questions about fasting by revealing something deeper than religious practice. He speaks of new wine and old wineskins, teaching that what He is doing cannot be contained within old systems, expectations, or identities. And how fasting is directly linked to ushering in the presence of God.
