Mendocino College Art Instructor and Gallery Director Jazzminh Moore returns to The Art Revolution Podcast to discuss the upcoming opening of “Urban Introversion”, the latest art exhibition at the Mendocino College Art Gallery featuring original figure-drawing inspired oil paintings, charcoal drawings and intaglio prints by Moore's mentor Yu Ji. Yu Ji studied at the Central Academy of Fine Art in Beijing before moving to New York where he completed two masters degrees in painting and printmaking. He then taught in the art department at California State University Long Beach for 35 years where Jazzminh attended his courses. Also featured in the exhibition is Lost in Transection, a collaborative video installation by Joe Ren. The Opening is (September 4th 4:30-6:30pm) at the Mendocino College Gallery.
She also discusses the new auxiliary MC POP-UP Gallery at The Lot on Main September 5th (5-8pm) for 1st Friday Art Walk featuring " Sound, Mind and Charcoal" drawings of local musicians by Mendocino College students. Currently, Jazzminh also has her original art on display at two other art venues open during the art walk, Mixtapeat Medium Gallery’s new downtown location and "Art of Wonder" at The Grace Hudson Museum featuring work by Antoinette von Grone, Micah Sanger, Jazzminh Moore and Red Wolf among others. There will be a panel discussion: “Artists Talking Wonder” on (Thursday September 11th from 7-8pm) featuring the artists listed above.
