Producer, musician and local business owner Tommy G joins Art Revolution for an in depth conversation about cultivating local arts and culture in Mendocino County. Originally hailing from Chicago, Illinois, Tom ventured out west to find the counter-culture movement that had planted its roots in Mendocino County and he ended up on a farm up on Spy Rock road outside of Laytonville. He immediately knew he wasn’t in Kansas anymore or in this case Chicago. Mendo wrapped its open arms around him and he never left, eventually buying a piece of property outside of Willits where he started a homestead and purchased Burrito Exquisito in the 90’s. He became a mainstay house musician at Shanachie Pub in downtown Willits also playing with his band This Cult of Ours. From there, he has launched Tommy G Presents which organized Willits Fest in the summer of 2025. It was well received and attended with maximum support from the community featuring local musicians, artists and vendors. His latest event is Day of the Divine on November 8th (12-6pm) at the The Willits Art Center featuring The Real Sarahs, Senefoli w/ Gigi Cano, Alyra Rose, Summer Rose, Luna Zaka, Joey Vayda/bellydance and crystal bowl sound healing w/ Erin Corley. Tommy G discusses music, community and cultivating and nurturing the “Mendo Sound” here in Mendocino County to showcase our local muscians and talent. He shares his wisdom and experience with the guys, inspiring them both to continue helping to push the underground live music and art scene forward for the next generation of emerging, creative, local innovators.
