Darnell isn’t just behind the camera—he’s using photography as a tool for empowerment. Through his work with at-risk youth, he’s helped more than 188 kids discover a new way of seeing the world by placing cameras in their hands. His own story began with imagination and vision—rehearsing what it would feel like to be a professional photographer long before he ever owned a camera. That mental rehearsal led to a pivotal moment with Indiana Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle, which opened the door to photographing his very first NBA game.
