We're back! After a summer away, Crafted Connections returns, and it feels good to be here.
I stepped away in July because I was chasing Thursdays… producing every week without ever stopping to ask what this show was really about. When people asked me, I couldn't explain it. So I gave myself Q3 off, leaned into another Slow Girl Summer, and let the answer find me.

In this episode, I'm walking you through why I took the break, what the summer actually looked like, what you can expect from the show now, and a first look at the series starting next week. It's the story of the hardest experience of my working life, and I'm finally ready to tell it.

We talk about:

• Why I stepped away, and what a produce-produce-produce mindset was costing me
• Slow Girl Summer, round two: back deck mornings, 10-to-3 workdays, and long run-walks in the park

• Realizing I couldn't explain my own podcast… and that the fix wasn't more brainstorming, it was space and time
• Getting a little obsessed with a cormorant swimming half in, half out of the water, and wondering if it's the subject of my next documentary
• We all know how burnout happens. How we come back from it is the question I've been carrying for three years.
