Imagine standing before the love of your life on your wedding day and hearing vows like, “I’m all in - I’ll stand with you so long as I don’t ever get my feelings hurt. I’ll give you my devotion except when I get bored. I’m committed to you but not on the weekends.” Hopefully, no one would be ok with those vows. Jesus makes clear that if you want to follow him you have to be “all in.” He says extremely shocking and offensive things that force the crowds to answer questions like: “Am I all in? Am I sure I want to follow Jesus? Do I know how much it will cost?”
