The next day [John] saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God...”There are many different ways in which Jesus Christ is portrayed in the Scriptures. Much like His Father, these depictions give us insight into who He was, His purpose, etc.----------Probably none of these designations carry such a harsh reality as "The Lamb of God." While we can often associate lambs as being precious and/or helpless, given the hindsight of Scripture, we know that this title was given to Him for a very different, sobering reason. He would be the lamb of sacrifice that would be killed to atone for sins.
