Jesus' entry into Jerusalem reveals much about the continued misperception there was as to His reason for coming and the reality of His kingdom. There was a great deal of excitement over His arrival on that day that we often refer to as the triumphal entry. But much of that excitement seems to have been based on people's desire to see Jesus come and rule as a king here on earth. They were ready to see Israel return to its former glory and to be rid of Roman rule.----------The warning for us today is tied to our understanding of who Jesus is as well. His purpose, as he stated himself, was to seek and save the lost. He did not come to bring us prominence or prestige, but to be a propitiation for our sin so that we might enjoy an eternal kingdom in Heaven. As we have stated before, He is committed to our eternal security not to our temporary comfort or success in this life.
