Whack-a-mole is an arcade game popular with kids (and their parents). They start out, mallet in hand, joyfully whacking each rodent as it pops up in a random position. The more moles you whack, the faster they start to pop up, until the whacker is practically popping a vein trying to get them all. Does this ever resemble your life? Wham, one project successfully in the books. Wham, you handled that hardship. Wham you wacked that item off your list. But as you wipe your brow with relief for those accomplishments, twice as many issues pop up needing your attention. Let’s take our big squishy hammer today and tune in as I provide some tips and insight on how to affectively beat this game!

Some people thrive under pressure and think the whack-a-mole game of life is almost fun. It keeps life interesting. On the other hand, for most individuals it is stressful.

They believe that once they get that one big project underway, it will be smooth sailing at work. Or once they reach their goal weight, they will settle into maintenance mode. They make their plans around what they expect will happen. Wham, wham, those things are taken care of and they can sit back, relax and enjoy smooth sailing. But, like the moles in the arcade game, as soon as they think they got them all more and more pop up. This leads to harsh and frustrating disappointments.

Sick kids, surprise guests or goodies, Illness and financial difficulties are just a few of the issues that can pop up just as you thought you had everything figured out.

New issues will continually pop up but there are things you can do to lessen their impact on your life. Below are some tangible tips to make the most out of your day, keep your mind in a good place and feel like you have some control over your circumstances!
