You can know the right theology and still lose your heart for people, but Paul refuses to let that happen. We open Romans 10:1–2 and sit with a simple sentence that carries enormous weight: Paul’s heart’s desire and prayer to God is that Israel may be saved. That single line confronts the moment many of us face with a spouse, child, parent, coworker, or friend, when we feel ignored, disappointed, or ready to write them off.
We talk through why Romans 10 belongs with Romans 9–11 and why Paul can hold two truths at the same time: God is sovereign in salvation, and people are responsible when they reject Christ. Far from making prayer pointless, God’s sovereignty makes prayer hopeful, because God truly works in the lives of those we’re praying for. You’ll also hear a memorable story from George Müller that challenges the way we measure “results” and calls us back to patient, persistent intercessory prayer.
Then we get practical about priorities. Scripture invites us to pray for many needs, but nothing outweighs the eternal value of a soul. We also face the sobering warning of Romans 10:2, that zeal for God is not the same as saving faith. If you want to pray biblically, share the gospel more clearly, and keep loving people who seem far from Christ, this message will steady you.
