Why do we really worship? This week Pastor Adam Biro opens up the throne room of Revelation and reminds us of an answer we can easily drift from: we worship first and foremost because God is worthy, not because of what we get out of it. Prayer changes things and worship changes things, but the moment we treat them as a way to get what we want, we have lost the heart of it. In Revelation 4 and 5, John sees the living creatures and the elders who behold God most clearly, and they never tire of crying, "Holy, holy, holy," and "Worthy are you." Pastor Adam shows us that when we gather, heaven is already worshiping, and we are simply opening our eyes and stepping in. Drawing on Hebrews 12, he reminds us that through Jesus we do not have to wait for eternity to come before the throne, we can enter that reality now. And sharing honestly from his own hardest seasons, he encourages us that sometimes we simply have to worship our way through whatever comes. Come and lift your eyes with us.
