Matt from Killarney Vale is an Australian field hockey player who competed in 2016 Rio Olympics and 2020 Tokyo games taking out the silver medal but his inclusion in the 2024 Paris Kookaburra's Olympic team is perhaps one of the most awe inspiring sporting stories of the 21st century when Matt had to make the very hard choice of having surgery with six months rehab to save a severely damaged finger or amputation. He chose the latter and boarded that plane for Paris six days later to be included in the 2024 Olympic team.
