Pastor Dustin Clegg continues in our study of the book of Galatians as we explore the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5:16-26. We see that the fruit of the Spirit is not the same as spiritual gifts (Gal 5:22-23, 1 Cor 12:4-11). We also see that there is eternal, endless, incredible, gigantic, unlimited, powerful, limb-bending, goofy, silly, disproportionate, wild, risky, amazing, crazy, absurd, unbelievable, improbable, ridiculous, unregulated fruit (Gal 5:22-23, John 15:4-5).
Applications:
(1) Be patient with ourselves and with one another. Fruit takes time! (John 15:5)
(2) Be part of a life group. (Matt 21:18-22)
(3) Constantly put to death our own desires and submit to the Spirit. (Gal 5:24-25)
(4) Don't be a fruit stealer and sometimes distance ourselves from those who are. (Gal 5:26)
