Today we look at Matthew 11:1-19 and see that the reason Jesus was called a "friend of sinners" was because He was a friend of sinners. Pastor Dustin Clegg points us to three observations in the text. We see in verses 1-6 that (1) there is potential for people of incredible faith to experience seasons of serious doubt. We need to remember that when doubt creeps in, jump quickly to the solid truth of scripture. Verses 7-15 show us that (2) there is potential for every believer to be used in unimaginable ways for the Kingdom. We need to stand ready to unleash His power in our circles. In verses 16-19 we learn that (3) there is potential for some people to not get it no matter the approach. But regardless we need to be a friend to sinners. If you are a sinner, know that Jesus is a friend to you.
