We continue with our study of the life of David with the sermon series, The Sling in the Rock, as we take a look at 1 Samuel 16:1-13. We see in verses 1 & 12 of the passage that Jesus doesn't need any of us, but any ordinary person can be used by Him to do incredible things.
We also see some deep implications of verse 7:
(1) We look at outward appearance and that's all we can ever do.
(2) What does the Bible mean when it says "heart"?
(3) What was so special about David's heart?
(4) God looks at the heart and that is great news.
(5) God looks at the heart and that is horrifying news.
