Pastor Dustin Clegg started a new series today called The Sling in the Rock. We look at 1 Samuel 8:1-18 and set the stage for a study on the life of David.
We see in the passage that (1) rebellion has to do with our allegiance to Jesus, not how right or wrong we are or think we are. Apply this by identifying the ruble rebellion in your soul.
We also see that (2) sometimes our worst judgement from God comes when He gives us exactly what we want. We should always align what we want with what He wants.
Lastly, we see that (3) any king besides King Jesus always becomes a tyrant in our lives. The main point today is that Jesus is the only King who always gives, and even if something is taken from us, He uses it for our good.
