This episode was previously recorded under my former podcast, All Things Relax with Sandi D. In this episode, I interviewed my mom, Betsy Meyer, creative entrepreneur 'extraordinaire'.
She was a fiber artist and kitchen and bath designer. I also share her story in the anthology, Stories of Friends and Family Lost: Betsy Meyer, The Last Kitchen.
Originally from Queens, New York, my mom had a lifelong passion for the fiber arts. From sewing custom clothing to dyeing and weaving or knitting handspun wool into art, to designing custom kitchens and baths in the Hamptons, or discovering and restoring antiques, she always had her creative gears in motion. Betsy tried to fit into the 9-5 world but her creative energy could not be contained.
May you be inspired by my mom whose journey with cancer sadly ended in 2023. At the time, her handwoven art was on display at The Marquee in Asheville. We held one of her memorials at the Marquee so that friends and family could view her work.
