Here we interact with an honest admission from the producer/writer of The Chosen. Are we content with "leaning on" the humanity of Jesus vs. the deity of Jesus in the Mormon-produced TV series? Does the nature and person of Christ really matter, or can we subject the faith to reductionism? And, do Mormons and Evangelicals "love the same Jesus," as Dallas Jenkins has testified? As the faith dies out with modern evangelicalism, this is a good time to be discerning. Can we really afford to characterize a different Jesus, and form a different set of categories by constructing a new narrative?
