Description

Guest host Adam McManus talks with Patti Garibay, the founder of American Heritage Girls, a Christian version of the Girl Scouts. In this second installment of two conversations, Patti, a Girl Scouts parent volunteer, shares her outrage with the group for making the pledge to God optional, for advocating moral relativism, and for championing a disturbing weekend called “Sexuality & You” for 12 to 14-year- olds which celebrated gender confusion and sexual perversion antithetical to God’s design.

She empathized with Habakkuk, the prophet, who cried out, “How long, O Lord, must I call for help? But You do not listen! Must I forever see these evil deeds? Why must I watch all this misery?” (Habakkuk 1:2-3)

After trying to reform the Girl Scouts from within, she felt God calling her to found American Heritage Girls, a Christ-centered adventure program for girls (5-18) whose troops are hosted in 1,200 churches and have 56,000 members nationwide. It’s all chronicled in her book Why Curse the Darkness When You Can Light a Candle?
