Support the local economy. Eat local, promote businesses and campgrounds on social, and leave helpful reviews.
Look for small ways to give back. Ask locals how to help, donate to community fridges, or join a one-off volunteer event.

Longer-term stays

Act like residents. Find local communities via Reddit and Instagram, join rec leagues, attend meetups, and vote where we’re based.
Initiating connections can feel awkward, especially when explaining our camper life.

Meeting our neighbors

Mixed experiences. Some connections happen easily, others not at all, and it’s hard to read interest.
When it clicks, it really clicks. We’ve built great neighbor relationships, and even short stays can turn into meaningful conversations.
