It's just after midnight on a hot Los Angeles night when a woman is struck down — left for dead by a driver who never slowed down. Sergeant Joe Friday and Ben Romero catch the case with almost nothing to work with: a near-sighted witness, a partial plate number, and a car described only as a late-model Dodge or Plymouth in light blue or blue-green.
The break comes when a 1948 Plymouth turns up with a bent grille, soft hood creases — and an owner who refuses to drive it. Justice is served: Ralph Angelo is convicted of hit-and-run felony, and Sheila Gordon is convicted alongside him for compounding a felony. Both go to prison.
"With a half dead girl and no suspect? It's a sour one." — Sergeant Joe Friday
"We found a car. Only one job left... to find the driver." — Lt. Lee Jones, Crime Lab
