Description

“I’m good” can be the most automatic lie men tell, not because we want to deceive anyone, but because we were trained to keep moving no matter what it costs. We go straight into Suicide Prevention Month with a conversation for the brother who is carrying more than he is saying, and for the friend who senses something is off but does not know how to bring it up.

We talk about how masculinity can get twisted into silence, how the “strong one” often goes unchecked, and why a better question changes everything: “Bro, are you really good?” From there, we break down what distress can look like in real life, anger, isolation, drinking more, nonstop work, reckless choices, or disappearing from the people you love. The goal is not to diagnose. The goal is to notice change, care enough to ask, and listen without rushing to fix.

We also tackle one of the biggest fears people have: saying the word suicide out loud. Asking directly does not plant the idea, it opens the door for truth. We walk through what to say if you are concerned, what to do if a brother says yes, and how to connect to immediate support, including the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline in the United States, plus when 911 is needed for a life-threatening emergency. Then we end with the Bro Check Challenge: reach out to three brothers this week with one real conversation and your full attention.

If someone came to mind while you listened, do not let it stay a thought. Subscribe, share this with a friend, and leave a review so more brothers hear it, then tell us: who are you checking on this week?
