What happens when a foundational horror novel about a lonely alcoholic in suburban LA gets traded for a 150 million dollar Will Smith workout reel? We are diving deep into Richard Matheson’s 1954 classic I Am Legend and its massive 2007 film adaptation.
Hear Tom struggle through a cold to explain why Stephen King calls this the vampire novel of the century! Hear Joe tear apart the ninth-grade biology that Richard Matheson used to explain the plague! Hear Jen call out the absolute absurdity of a little girl casually handing over her puppy in the middle of an apocalypse!
We explore the lost Ridley Scott version that almost starred Arnold Schwarzenegger and a silent opening hour. Does the message of the book survive the transition to the big screen, or is it just another high-explosive grenade sacrifice? All that, plus the great lozenger versus lozenge debate that nearly derailed the recording!
