Description

Every December, I find myself returning to one of my favorite Christmas stories. A dear friend, Tim, and his wife, Joan, once welcomed a single mother and her two children into their home when the family had nowhere else to go. For three weeks, their home became a place of adjustment. While there were moments of joy and laughter, it also meant sacrificing space and comfort.

When the family finally moved into their new place, Joan looked around and told Tim, "No decorations, no gifts, nothing done for Christmas. Tim nudged her and said: “Honey, we just gave a homeless family a place to live. We might not have lights or presents, but we are already celebrating Christmas.”

This season, may we remember: Christmas isn’t measured by what hangs on the tree, but by love offered in Christ’s name.

As you reflect on that, remember these words -- “…whatever you did for the least of these my brothers…you did for me.” Matthew 25:40 (NIV)

This has been your B Moment. Your moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.

So today, spread your love.

Be Reflective: When you look back on this season, how will you remember underscoring Christ in your celebrations? How might you remind yourself that love offered in Christ’s name is the truest decoration of Christmas?

Be Prayerful: Heavenly Father, thank You for reminding me that Christmas is not about what I accomplish, but about how I love. Help me to see the needs around me and respond with compassion. May my actions reflect Your heart, and may I never forget that when I serve others, I am serving You. Amen.

Be Fed:  Proverbs 19:17; Mark 9:41; 1 Peter 1:22
