Colin Whittington has a unique background that led him tostart his business, Recruiting Heroes. He served for 8 years as a deputysheriff in Virginia, but eventually felt it was time to transition out of lawenforcement.
As he navigated his own career change, Colin realized therewere few resources to help veterans, former first responders, and others likehim make the switch to private sector jobs. He started getting messages frompeople asking for advice, so he began informally helping by offering resumewriting tips or LinkedIn optimization suggestions.
Before long, the demand made Colin realize he should turnit into an actual business. Recruiting Heroes was born to help the "heroeswho have served us" find fulfilling careers after their time in publicservice roles.
In addition to working with employers to match candidatesto open roles, Colin provides coaching to help former cops, firefighters, EMTsand military translate their skills for private sector work. He assists withresume updates, LinkedIn profiles, interview prep, and more.
For Colin, Recruiting Heroes combines his passion forserving those who serve the public with an ability to utilize his recruitingexperience. It's rewarding to hear from happy candidates who have landed newjobs thanks to his efforts.
