Sanders Jackson (1967) is an English teacher in The Netherlands and a former professional basketball player. During his formative years, he spent countless hours working to improve his basketball skills. Despite all the frustrations he maintained a mindset focused on learning from his setbacks.

Academically, it was a unique experience to face the challenge of learning something entirely new. At home, strict expectations around discipline meant he was never allowed to risk failure on tests without good reason. As a teacher in the Dutch educational system, with experience across various levels, he has often seen students fall into the trap of not putting in enough effort during class and not studying adequately for the first test.

During parent-teacher meetings, he often encountered a concerning mindset: when a student received a 4.4—technically still a failing grade—some parents would focus on the rounding that leads to a border mark of 5. For him, his indicated an acceptance of minimal performance rather than a drive to improve and learn from the previous failed tests. It is now part of his mission to help students enhance their academic career by doing more than just getting by.
