The idea of a Kingdom that is coming persisted in the Jewish community into the decades following Jesus' visit here. Some tried to make that kingdom come by force. Then a discussion of "scissors theology", how later theologians tried to cut out the Millennium passages altogether, as replacement theology took hold of the church.
