Jews rest in the Law but have broken it all through their history. They rest in circumcision but an uncircumcised Gentile who keeps the Law is more precious to God than a circumcised Jew who does not, reasons Paul. Problem, as we will see: there is no Gentile who keeps the Law perfectly either!
