"Mann About Town's Mission: The Mount Macedon Memorial Challenge"
Standing 21 metres high since 1935, the Mount Macedon Memorial Cross is Victoria's most important war memorial after the Shrine of Remembrance—a place of profound reflection, especially at the ANZAC Day dawn service.
But when volunteers began restoration work, they discovered the footings don't match the original drawings. Work stopped immediately.
Now, David Mann OAM KSJ—"Mann About Town" on 3AW and Knight of the Order of St John of Jerusalem, one of the world's oldest orders of chivalry—leads his volunteer committee in an urgent appeal for $150,000 to secure this sacred site and complete the restoration. Join us for a conversation about preserving a beacon of remembrance for all who served.
