Hey, it's Ted Rhoades filling in for Todd (he's at the dentist!). Today's top church leadership stories:
- Bethel Pastor on Leave: Ben Armstrong placed on administrative leave amid clergy sexual abuse allegations dating back to 2009. The church is bringing in outside counsel for a trauma-informed investigation.
- Church & Divorce: Barnabas Piper reflects on how the church has improved—but still struggles to hold two truths: marriage is sacred AND divorced people need compassion.
- Hallow's Lent Challenge: With Ash Wednesday tomorrow, the prayer app is launching their Lent challenge featuring Chris Pratt, Mark Wahlberg, and Jonathan Roumie. Over 1.4 million participated last year.
Bright Spot: Calvary Church in Naperville launched "Calvary Champions," serving children with autism, developmental delays, and ADHD. 65 families have joined since it started, and there's now a waiting list of volunteers!
Takeaway: When platforms grow faster than character, the gap becomes dangerous. Who in your life has permission to ask uncomfortable questions?
