Luke 5:1-26

There is going to be a voice in your head that wants to mute these stories and censor these stories from encouraging you to trust in God for miraculous intervention.

Let me encourage you to let down your guard for the next few minutes and allow the Holy Spirit to encourage your heart.

Verse 1-11

This day was probably the most successful day Peter ever had as a fisherman. He probably had never caught this much fish. If his vocation was a negative thing then why did Jesus give him his best day ever?

Verse 12-16

Instead of crowds Jesus is gathering followers. He is also calling these followers to do life together. He is forming the church. These people don’t just have relationships with him, they also have relationships with one another. And those relationships are unique.

Verse 17-26

I think the church walks around saying "Jesus will forgive your sins." But it isn't healing the suffering of their community. It is easy to be the church that says "your sins are forgiven." It is much harder to be the church that says "your sins are forgiven, rise up and walk."
