If you have ever looked at your effort and thought, “I have not hit the goal yet, so I must be failing,” we recorded this for you. We get honest about a mindset trap that hits founders, creators, and entrepreneurs hard: turning a temporary result into a permanent identity. Winning and losing is not the full story, especially when you are in the middle of building something real.
Curtis Gray and Mark Hildebrand dig into self-leadership and perspective as actual skills you can practice. We talk about why your brain loves the easy exit of calling things “broken,” how analysis paralysis keeps you stuck, and why comparison on social media steals momentum. We also call out the “overnight success” narrative and the hidden years of repetition behind every launch, audience, and business that looks effortless from the outside.
We get practical about progress too: stages count, even when you are not at the destination. We share why “failure” is better treated as feedback, how to use mentors without surrendering your strengths, and why mindset and tactics work best as a pair. You will also hear why money is a tool for optionality and impact, not an identity, and how sustainable ambition lets you be proud and hungry at the same time.
If this helped you reframe where you are right now, subscribe, share it with a builder friend, and leave a review so more people can stop judging the whole journey by a single moment. What stage are you in today?
