Klara and the Sun is a fantastic, moving surprise: a deceptively simple story that opens up into something far more complex, and one of the most heartfelt films of the year. Taika Waititi, Kazuo Ishiguro's source material, and Jenna Ortega come together exactly the way you'd hope, and the result is charming, empathetic, and quietly powerful, with a thread of faith running through it that pulls you in rather than pushing you away.
"This movie feels like a perfect marriage of director, material, and leading actress."
"It's fueled by an unbelievable superpower known as Jenna Ortega. She's absolutely empathy incarnate."
Press play for the full 1er™ on why Klara and the Sun deserves your opening weekend, and why it might be the film that wins back anyone who's grown tired of Waititi.
